Making Tees: A user guide to creating a tee using the Shirt Machine.

· How do I get started?

To launch the shirt machine click the "Make a shirt" icon at the top of the screen.

The Tee Machine is a powerful, yet easy-to-use drawing program. If you have used other imaging software, you'll feel right at home. If you haven't, don't worry -- the Tee Machine awaits your exploration.

Once in the Tee Machine, toggle the bubble help tool. You'll get a description of all of the different tools and their uses.

· Will the tee look just like what I see on the screen?

Yes. This is lo-res at it's best!

· How do I copy and paste an image from another source?

In the Tee Machine, you can hold down the shift key as you click the glue bottle to paste the image from your clipboard. The image can not exceed the canvas size of your shirt. (128 pixels x 128 pixels max)

See the section on copyright issues before you copy and paste.

Managing Your Storefront and Account: Setting up, stocking up and tracking your sales.

· How do access my store?

Log in, then use the "my store" icon. If you have saved shirts they will be there!

· How do I save my shirts?

If you are logged in your shirts are automatically saved. If you are not logged in, you are given the opportunity to log in or signup to save and sell your shirt.

· Can other people buy my shirts?

Yes. If you have shirts that are "public" then other people can view and buy them. You will receive commisions for shirts you sell.

· How much do I make?

It depends on how many you sell!

After you have sold 5 shirts you will start earning $1 for every shirt you sell. After you sell 20 you will earn $2 for every shirt you sell.

For example, let's say you've sold 29 shirts. You're not bad off. You earned $15 for shirts 6-20. Someone bought another shirt, so you began earning $2 a shirt. So shirts 21-29 earned you another $18. Add that together and you've earned $33. Not bad for a doodle! And you're still making $2 for each one sold!

· What's the difference between a "public" shirt and a "private" shirt?

Public shirts are shirts you have for sale. The entire pixeltees community can view and purchase these shirts.
Shirts that are "private" are shirts that are not for sale. Only you can see these shirts and buy them when you are logged in.

You can change the Public/Private status by clicking the "edit details" icon located at the bottom of the shirt and then use the check box marked "this shirt is public". An appropriate category for the shirt must also be selected.

· How do I delete shirts?

Log in, click the “my store” icon, then locate the shirt you want to delete. Now click the "edit details" icon located at the bottom of the shirt and then click the "delete shirt" icon.

· How do I use the My Account page mailing address areas?

So you don't have to enter your address everything you want to buy a shirt, we can send it to the address you enter under “default shipping address” on the left.

When we cut you a check for your commission, we will send to the address you enter under “commission checks” on the right.

· How do I change the store name, keywords, sorting instructions and other details of my storefront?

Log in, click the “Store Setup” tab, and fill in the “Store Name,” “Keywords,” and “Description” blanks with the appropriate words. Use the “Sorting” drop-down box to choose the default way that people see your store. Click the button for the showcasing option you prefer.

· What is a showcased shirt?

If you're fond of a particular shirt of yours, you can "showcase" it in your store from the Store Setup tab. This is the shirt that people see the biggest when they first enter your store. You can either select that special shirt yourself, or let pixeltees automatically set it to your newest or most popular shirt by clicking the "update automatically" option

· How do I set or change a shirt name or keywords?

Log in, and click the"my store" icon . Click the “edit details” button just below the shirt you want to name or rename, then fill in the “Shirt Name” blank. Fill in the “Keywords” blank with the appropriate four words.

Your keywords will work best when they describe major features of the graphics on the shirt (“frog”), words on the shirt (“Have a Nice Day”), or - if you are a well known Pixeltees artist - your screen or store name.

· What are "My Faves"?

Found a cool shirt but don't have your credit card handy? Add it to your faves so you can do it later. When you're browsing around you'll see the "add to faves" link on shirts and stores. Just click it and it automatically bookmarks it. To view and edit your favorites, click the "my faves" icon when you're logged in.
